2008 Virginia Bar-B-Que
Thursday, June 5, 2008
Here's
a majority of the Virginia Bar-B-Que
Committee at the final pre-event
meeting of the 2008 Bar-B-Que. A
few 'bugs' had to be worked out this
year, but it got sorted out. We had our
fingers crossed for good weather.

Even
before the opening ceremonies, things
were starting to take place. Here you
see Matt Lakin, WJVO 105.5 DJ,
interviewing the Little Miss girls. Rachel
Brunk was the chairperson of the Little
Miss pagaent.
Also
Matt Lakin did a live interview on
WJVO with the queen contest director,
Cayla Hopper, (Left) and the queen
contestants.

The 2008 Little Miss Virginia
Bar-B-Que is Madison
Kemp.
Here's the 2008
Virginia
Bar-B-Que Queen,
Cynthia Harris, and her
court.

Then
it was Legends
Entertainment. Cher
did some up close and
personal singing, and
my advice is don't mess
with the Sister.
As you can
see, Elvis and
Rod Stewart were there.
Legends put on
a great show.

Parade:

Linda Davidson
was one of the
karaoke contestants.
Mitch Williams put
on
a great magic show. Here
you see some helpful
volunteers from the audience.
WJVO, 105.5 FM
was with us doing a live
remote broadcast. Here you see station
manager Sarah Hautala interviewing
our main entertainer for the '08 BBQ,
T. Graham Brown.
TNT and the
Dynamite Cowboys
opened the show and did
a fantastic job.
T. Graham Brown
and the
Full Rack of Spam band
took the stage and gave
a great performance.
This will give
you an idea
of the size of the audience.
Here's an action
shot
taken from the stage.

It kicked off
with a Car Show on
Sunday.
The Barbershop
Chorus from
Springfield, IL gave us
great songs with tight harmony.
This was a praise
band with a lot
of talent. The audience
appreciated their performance
big time.
